JHANNA in Palestine – Performance

FANNI RAGHMAN ANNI presented in the Ramallah Summer Festival ‘Wen A Ramallah’ (‘Where to Ramallah?’), which took place from August 15 to 23 2019 in Ramallah, Palestine.

Invited by the Ramallah Municipality, the festival’s eighth annual edition featured a diverse programme of artistic activities, including theatrical and musical performances, and participation from dance troupes across various Arab countries. The festival also included a public engagement programme aimed at promoting art and culture in the region.

Fanni Raghman Anni’s dance performance, ‘Jehanna’, was directed and produced by Seif Eddine Jlassi and performed in a public square. ‘Jehanna’ was performed with young performing artists from Tunisia, Egypt and Palestine, following a series of focused training workshops led by Seif Eddine Jlassi, as part of a wider participatory programme in partnership with Ramallah Municipality and Studio El Madina (Egypt).

The initiative received the Art and Social Change Award from the Ramallah Municipality for its impactful contribution to the festival and surrounding cultural landscape
